I Want

I want
him always here, and
I want my aloneness.

I think
in case he goes first
I’ll ask him to haunt me

but not
when I’m meditating
or writing a poem.

Today
I also want St Kilda
to win the Grand Final repeat.*

*Aussie Rules. Playing off after a draw last week.
(They didn't win, though.)
